My Artistic Process

First I surf Facebook or internet pics to get inspired. I look for interesting compositions, unique expressions or gestures, and think about how I could change or altar them. My mind slams images together until it comes up with something shocking that makes me laugh out loud; that’s when I know I’ve got something worth painting. Once I have my idea, I’ll search specifically for the images I want to use and make a kind of collage. I start with a pencil sketch, then an outline. Oil paintings should start with the very dark and build up to light and highlights. I don’t always do it this way however. Finally I’ll add the colors, and then redo all the details (and sometimes outlines).
