“OJ buddha” 柳橙汁- 60×90cm- Oil on Canvas, 2007

The sublime meets the functional. This was not hard to dream up; the crown on this style of Buddha is naturally the correct shape for pulp extraction and juicer. Further, the stream of juice going up the seated meditative figure could represent the flow of kundalini energy – is the juice pouring downwards into the cup, or returning into its origin? The orange: a perfectly formed embryo guarding the seeds of its gestation (potentiality) under a thick outer shell.

崇高的事物也可以發揮做用。這不難想像，這類佛祖外型的頭部就跟果肉萃取機和果汁機的形狀一樣。而且，淋在這尊冥想的坐姿神像上面的果汁，往下流到杯子裡也返回至源頭－柳橙，象徵一種坤達利尼能量。柳橙有著厚厚的果皮，果皮內部是個完美成形的胚胎，保護蘊含著潛能卻仍在發育的種子。
